The Science of Being Well.

Have you already been acquainted to Wallace Wattles' "The Science of Being Well", published in 1910? I just finished reading it and I find it somehow speaking to me. Most of what the author is talking about is easy to understand, sticks to your mind and is also a nice change and addition to all the east-influenced spiritual or modern scientific approaches I've found myself surrounded with so far when it comes to health and nutrition.
First half of "The Science of Being Well" deals with the author's philosophical and theological approach to being well, while in the second half he focuses on what to eat, how to eat, when to eat, how much to eat and so on (plus later on appropriate breathing and sleeping). One must not agree with everything and keep in mind that science in Europe was at a completely other level back then but taken en masse, a lot of it makes sense, I believe.

Shake ya shake but watch yourself.

There's one thing you should know about me right away. I'm a shakeaholic and I shake shake shake a lot. I guess everybody has that something they love most in their living foods diet lifestyle and for me it's defo the shakes.

Mostly, I would grab some berries (frozen ones during winter) and blend them with some almond milk, a banana and add some acai and vanilla powder. I simply love adding the vanilla everywhere!

One of my favorites:
- Rasberries
- Banana
- Almond milk
- Acai powder (about 1 tsp)
- Vanilla!

And I know, fruit shouldn't be mixed with other foods than greens and actually I'm pretty good at avoiding doing so but sorry.. I don't regret any of my shake. ;)

Also, it's funny how much I started to love my almond milk. I remember those days when being a teenager, hiding Pringles cans and chocolate bars under my blanket so that my "absolutelyoverlycrazyesotericnutrition mum" would not see them, she would occasionally offer me a glass of the milk which she made daily for herself and my younger brothers. Every time she did that, rebellion-me refused to even look at it. Who would know that almost ten years later I would turn into the absolutelycrazy.. whatever myself and start to milk almonds? First I made small portions and would drink it every here and then. Now I soak a pack of almonds every few days and literally crave it. In shakes, as chocolate milk, in my oatmeal, just like that, sweetened with some dates, sieved, unsieved, mixed with hazelnut milk, warmed with cinnamon, mixed with coconut flakes.. there's barely a day in my life without one portion of almond milk. I even think I have to grab myself a glass just. right. now.

Let your breakfast be a poem.

“Enchant, stay beautiful and graceful, but do this, eat well. Bring the same consideration to the preparation of your food as you devote to your appearance. Let your dinner be a poem, like your dress.” - Charles Pierre Monselet

Most of the time I really like to keep my breakfast routine simple but sometimes I decide to drop my daily green smoothie and oatmeal and begin my day with a poem right away - Like I did today with some fresh green juice and a delicious fruit salad.

Juice:
- 2 celery stalks
- 1 pear
- A thick slice of ginger
- Juice of 1/2 lemon

As I am just a student and more of a beginner when it comes to introducing lots of living foods into my diet who just recently got a new mixer, I cannot afford a good juicer at the same time as well. However, I wouldn't let anything stop me from juicing! This is how it can be done my way:
Blend the ingredients with about a glass of water (depends on how strong you like your juice) then pour them through a cheesecloth or milk bag (or something alike) and make sure to get all the good juice out there!
It's amazing to see how much water indeed the ingredients contained. Not much more than 1 Tbs fiber is left!

For the fruit salad I took two small bananas and an apple, mixed with flax seeds and ground earth almond. The dressing is made of some red basil leaves, a couple of frozen raspberries, lime juice and bourbon vanilla powder, topped with coconut flakes. It definitely rhymes with each other.

How does your breakfast routine look like? :)

Just a small hello.

Finally the great wave of blogging hit me.
This is a start and I don't know where it will bring me. And honestly?
I don't need to know.

(On a side note, I am not a native speaker so forgive me if you find any mistakes!)
